Dennis Simms
Chief Executive Officer
Coach, Consultant and CEO of Simms Coaching and Consultancy. Former Headteacher. Author of The AP Quality Toolkit. Founding Co-Chair of Heads Forward - a national network of education leaders.
“My passion is to support leaders to dream big, think strategically and then make it happen”
I’ve spent most of my career working in education, including secondary schools, Post-16 and latterly Alternative Provision, as Head of School. I’ve also worked in research and policy, at the Centre for Social Justice, as part of the IntegratED programme, where I authored the The AP Quality Toolkit.
I co-chair Heads Forward (Heads Forward is Teach First’s National Network of Ambassador education leaders) which supports 100+ school and system leaders to work collaboratively, share best practice and improve the sector.
I am an alumni of The Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford’s Pathway to Success programme and a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts.
I have an MA in Educational Leadership and the National Professional Qualifications Senior Leadership and Headship. I’m also a trustee for Reach Academy Multi-academy trust.
I’m married and enjoy travelling and making memories with my wife whenever we can. When not working I enjoy watching the Formula 1, playing badminton and occasionally I sign up for marathons and then spend far too long not training enough.

Jonathan Lansley-Gordon
Chief Operating Officer
Coach, Consultant, Physicist and COO of Simms Coaching and Consultancy. Co-founder and Managing Director of The Blackett Lab Family – the UK’s first national network of Black British Physicists.
“I love working with passionate people on things that matter.”
Following a master’s degree in Theoretical Physics at Imperial College London, I joined Teach First at the start of a decade in education, teaching mathematics and physics and going on to specialise in teaching and learning as Assistant Headteacher.
I remain connected to education as School Governor of Chelsea Academy, as well as supporting school leaders as an Education Consultant. A firm believer in diversity, equity and inclusion, I work on strategic thinking and planning to deliver meaningful cultural impact – be it in schools, businesses or charities.
As co-founder and Managing Director of The Blackett Lab Family, I combine my experience as educator, leader, and supporter of social change to improve Black representation and engagement in physics.
Away from the office, I agonise over the ups and downs of Arsenal football club and refuse to listen to anything other than 90s Hip Hop and RnB. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, attempting to recreate classic Jamaican home cooking.
